In Berks County, a majority of our water flows into the Schuylkill River Watershed. Large watersheds, like the Schuylkill River Watershed, are made up of many smaller watersheds such as the Tulpehocken Creek, Maiden Creek, Manatawny Creek, Wyomissing Creek, Hay Creek, and Angelica Creek to name a few. It is a strategy of Berks Nature to focus our planning and implementation projects in these smaller sub-watersheds – which, ultimately will improve the quality of the Schuylkill River itself.
We enjoy partnerships with numerous organizations that share a similar goal of improving and protecting the Schuylkill River Watershed – the Philadelphia Water Department, the William Penn Foundation, the Schuylkill River Heritage Area, and the Schuylkill Action Network (SAN).
